The VA Health Informatics Certificate Program (AMIA 10x10) is the result of a partnership between VA and AMIA to train health care professionals in applied health and medical informatics. |

Course Objectives

Explore how technology can be used to improve health care delivery in health care organizations

Acquire depth and breadth of knowledge of the principles of Health Informatics

Provide a theoretical framework of the design, development, and implementation of health information systems

Participation

Targeted to individuals in formal or informal leadership roles in informatics at the facility, VISN, or national level.

Time commitment is approximately 12 hours per week for 28 weeks

Competitive enrollment limited to 40 students per session

Available only to VA staff and select Federal Partners

No prerequisites

No tuition or fees
Program Requirements:
- GS-11 and above; Nurse II and above
- Not currently enrolled in an internship, fellowship or residency program
- At least 2 years of employment in the VA
- Not open to contractors
