Health Informatics Specialist/Clinical Applications Coordinator (HIS-CAC) National Training Program

This series provides technical skills training for Health Informatics Specialist/Clinical Applications Coordinator (HIS/CAC) staff who support the software applications that are integral to the Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS). Courses cover the full range of knowledge and skills related to CPRS in accordance with national and local policies.

It is strongly recommended that new students take each course in order as skills and exercises build sequentially.  

NOTE: Enrolled participants must have access to CPRS and all HIS/CAC menus and keys in their TEST, MIRROR or Training accounts in order to participate in the required exercises.

This module presents adult learning principles and how they can be applied to the design and delivery of health information technology training. Participants are guided through methods to attain personal mastery of the Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS) graphical user interface which is the subject matter for end-user training. Once prepared with comprehensive knowledge of the subject matter, participants are presented with practical strategies to develop and deliver CPRS training using a wide-variety of training methods and tools.
